This unusual magic booklet presents complete performance material rather than simply explaining individual tricks. Kattner emphasizes combining magic, patter, music cues and stage movement into polished routines designed to entertain an audience. The material includes two complete magic scenarios along with additional performance-tested tricks and routines.

The preface is dated September 27, 1944, with Kattner explaining that the book was written in response to magicians who knew tricks but lacked entertaining presentation. He stresses the importance of carefully written and rehearsed patter, character development and theatrical presentation. Kattner also credits magician Richard Madden of Little Rock, Arkansas, for influencing his approach to practicing magic to music.

A particularly interesting piece of vintage magic literature with great period cover artwork and a strong emphasis on the performance and presentation side of magic.

CONDITION NOTES:  Overall in very good vintage condition with some expected age and storage wear, including minor edge and corner wear to the covers and some toning/discoloration to the pages.
