THE MARTIAN CARD TRICK
 
A CRAZY LITTLE DIVERSION THAT TURNS OUT TO BE SOMETHING MORE ... A MIRACLE!
 
Dan Garrett presents a fun-filled routine with a smash ending. It is based on an idea and routine by Larry West and Verne Chesbro. Two simple sleights are required: the double lift and the ELMSLEY COUNT. For those unfamiliar with these two basic sleights, a brief description of them follows the routine. It is advisable to practice these moves until you can do them smoothly and convincingly.
 
EFFECT: The performer launches into an offbeat spiel about Martians playing cards, while displaying four blue-backed jokers front and back. Suddenly one of the four cards becomes a Martian Joker, with a red back and a funny-looking Martian on the face. One spectator places his hand on the red-backed Martian card while another spectator covers one of the blue-backed jokers. Now the FACES of the cards transpose under their hands! ALL cards may be examined thoroughly!
