Fool your friends
A barrel of laughs

“If they see a white thread on your coat they naturally will try to pick it off. The thread in this bobbin is 25 yards long.”

DIRECTIONS: Thread the needle and push the HEAD of the needle through the cloth from the inside of your coat. Pull the thread ENTIRELY out of the needle and pin the Raveling inside the coat and let three or four inches of the thread hang down. Now watch everybody “bite”.

Classic pull-the-thread practical joke in which an innocent-looking loose thread on the wearer's coat just keeps coming and coming when someone tries to remove it.

This gag itself is considerably older than this example. A 1923 A.C. Gilbert catalog already lists a “Raveling Joke” as part of a novelty set.

Overall in good vintage condition with age and storage wear. The original display card has discoloration, edge and corner wear, scuffing and staining. There is paint loss to the red metal housing. The needle remains attached to the back of the card.

Please Note: Due to their age, some vintage novelty pieces may no longer perform exactly as originally intended and should be considered collectible display pieces.
