Effect: Two nested boxes and four blocks are shown. The performer leaves the room while a spectator freely arranges the blocks in any order inside the smaller, opaque box. The inner box is then placed inside the larger box and both are closed. Upon returning, without opening either box or making any suspicious moves, the performer correctly reveals the exact order of the blocks.

The inner box alone is completely opaque, making any solution impossible. When combined with the larger box, the effect moves firmly into miracle territory.

Originally known as The Mystery of Mysteries, this classic effect dates back to around 1880 and is credited to Martinka in the United States and Zauber-Klingl in Europe.

This is a beautifully crafted piece by Mephisto-Huis, closely resembling the renowned version produced by Zaubertechnik Haug. The method is ingenious enough to delight magicians, while remaining clean, direct, and utterly convincing for audiences.

CONDITION NOTES:  In excellent condition with only minimal wear. The original instructions are not included; however, we will provide a couple of alternative instruction sheets that can be used with this effect. While these are basic, they offer a solid foundation and understanding of the workings from which you can develop a strong and personalized routine.

SIDE NOTE:  If you’re not already familiar with this trick, I suggest examining the box first before reading the instructions. Seeing the prop on its own really highlights just how clever and devious the method is.  A wonderful addition to any collection.
