Six cards are counted slowly and fairly into the performer’s hand. One by one, the magician openly places three cards aside, leaving just three in hand.
 
With no suspicious moves, the cards are counted again…
There are still six.
 
Again, three cards are clearly removed and set aside. The audience sees them go. The remaining cards are counted—
Back to six.
 
This impossible repetition continues, with cards repeatedly taken away, yet the count stubbornly returns to six every time. In the finale, the illusion is broken as all the cards are finally shown, proving there were only ever six… or were there?
