Four cards in numerical order are shown to be riveted together. Due to the fact that they are fastened as such, it is impossible to change the order of the cards.
 
The fan of cards are handed to a spectator who is requested to close the fan.
 
When the spectator opens the fan, two of the cards have swapped positions, altering the order.
 
The cards remain in their hands to be inspected...
