The performer displays a deck of playing cards showing that they are all different and well mixed. While the performers back is turned, the spectator is invited to cut the deck as often as he likes. He is then instructed to remove the top card and place it out of sight, in his pocket. The remainder of the deck is returned to the card box by the spectator. The performer places two rubber bands around the box to prevent any tampering with the cards.

Placing the box flat on the palm of his hand, the performer states that it would indeed make his job a lot easier if he could somehow enter the box and count the red and blacks to determine the color of the card in the spectator’s pocket. Explaining that he will in fact, execute an “out of body” experience, the performer closes his eyes and appears to be rapidly counting under his breath. “I see there is one black card missing from the deck. The card in your pocket is definitely a black card. Now all I have to do is count the Spades and Clubs.”

The performer closes his eyes again as if entering a trance like state. “There is one club card missing. Now all it takes is a simple process of elimination. Your card is the FOUR OF CLUBS!” The spectator is asked to remove and show the randomly selected card he placed in his pocket. It is the Four of Clubs!

CONDITION NOTES:  Some wear is present on both the card box and the instructions. The card box shows slight discoloration from rubber bands, but remains fully functional. This could easily be adapted to any playing card design you choose with some minor construction.
