Two cards are shown back to back and fanned. One card is removed and held behind the performer’s back. The spectator is to guess which card is left in the hand, but guesses wrong. This is repeated once again. The spectator is cautioned to watch carefully but again guesses incorrectly.

One last time, the spectator is shown the two cards and names one of them, which is placed in the performer’s pocket. Once again, the spectator guesses incorrectly — as this time, the card has mysteriously travelled from the performer’s pocket back to rejoin the card in the performer’s hand.

Both cards can be examined.
