A baffling ring through rod penetration that is completely examinable and a real working fooler.
 
The magician starts by presenting a group of items designed in a rustic rune covered aesthetic. A box with a front panel that opens is shown from all sides to be completely empty. A metal rod with two large nuts that screw onto either end is shown to be solid. Lastly a mystical rune covered ring is introduced and shown to the audience as solid and in one piece.
 
The box is closed and the rod pushed through the center of the box. The  two nuts are then screwed onto the rod from either end locking it into place. The ring is then held over the top of the box as the performer explains that they will now drop the ring into the box so that it hits the rod within. The ring is dropped, the audience clearly hears a “tink” as it hits the rod, but they don’t hear the ring hit the floor of the box. The front of the box is instantly removed to reveal the ring dangling right on the center of the rod, having penetrated itself onto the rod. The performer now loosens the nuts on the rod without completely taking them off and is able to slide the rod up and out of the box to reveal the ring stuck on the rod and locked between the two large nuts. It is not impossible to remove the ring without first unscrewing one of the nuts from the rod. The performer can now hand all the pieces out to be examined leaving the spectators completely baffled as they hold the ring locked onto the rod in their own hands.
 
Handmade and hand painted, each of these sets is produced with care and in limited series. A collectors signed certificate of authenticity is included with each set.

Anthony Yap is an Australian artist with a passion for visual oddities, magical history and the esoteric arts. Influenced by a wide range of genres from mystical ancient cultures to Steampunk & Retrofuturism, Anthony’s creations are highly visual, and usually a lot more than what they seems at first glance.
 
Some artists naturally take to drawing, others modelling clay, for Anthony the virtual world of 3D Sculpting has been his medium of choice for over 2 decades and remained mostly contained to the virtual world until the rise of 3D Printing and additive manufacturing. Here Anthony saw an opportunity to rapidly take concepts and almost like magic to see those creations manifest over night into reality. While a big step in the right direction simply using 3D printing or CNC wasn’t enough, the result still felt unfinished and looked like a toy. Instead, a process and style was developed that uses 3D Printing & CNC as a base to start from with all of the individual pieces then undergoing a long process of hand work, assembly, hand painting & lacquer finishing to bring further quality, depth and feel to the magical creation. Through this process of mixing modern technology and classic hand crafting a unique characteristic is given to each of the items sometimes making the final piece feel as if it was just dug from an ancient tomb or discovered in the archives of some long lost traveling showman.
 
Due to the hand crafted nature of each of the pieces Anthony and his team can only produce a limited number of items each year with majority of the pieces going to collectors and enthusiasts from around the world.
