EFFECT:
The magician shows eleven red-backed cards. He lays the eleven cards face up on the table, showing that they all have different faces.
 
He says, “We’ll only use six cards,” and takes five cards away. The magician asks a spectator to think of a number between one and six. While the spectator is thinking of a number, the magician introduces an envelope containing his prediction.
 
When the spectator tells the number he thought of, the magician counts that many and points to the card in that position. The magician asks the spectator to open the envelope and reveal the prediction — it matches the card! Not only that, but when the card is turned over it has a blue back, and so does the prediction card! Finally, the magician turns the other ten cards over and they all have totally different backs.
