A solid brass ring is placed inside a small wooden box and the front and back doors are closed, leaving the ring clearly isolated inside. A miniature magic wand is then slid through the side slots of the box, passing cleanly through from one side to the other.
 
With a few magical gestures, the wand is removed—and impossibly, the ring is now found threaded onto it.
 
Both doors are opened immediately, showing the box empty and proving there is no duplicate ring. Everything can be examined, leaving an elegant and baffling penetration effect that happens right before the spectator’s eyes.
