Here is the cleverest of all the ‘Out of this World’ tricks, using Jumbo-size cards. The trick becomes at once one which is a hundred per cent visual, and it can be presented with telling effect during any program of magic or mentalism.
 
THE EFFECT is that 12 Jumbo size playing cards are shown, 6 red spot cards, 6 black. Magician mixes the cards together, asking the audience if they think they can pick the red cards from the black. Obviously they could, but not if the cards were face down. There would only be a fifty-fifty chance of their being correct, and the odds against their being correct in each instance (i.e. a hundred per cent correct) would be astronomical.
 
Two cards are removed from the packet of cards in the hand and stood face out against a stand or against two inverted tumblers, one at each side of the table. Now the remaining ten cards are mixed up. The magician holds up one card with its back to the audience, asking someone if he would like this placed against a black or a red card. The card is placed at the chosen position, back out. One by one, the cards are placed as designated by the audience until five cards have been placed against each marker. A stunning surprise follows when it is seen that the audience have correctly matched the cards, all the red cards being against the red marker and the black ones being against the black marker!
 
There are no moves, skill or sleights. The trick is easy to do, under almost any conditions. It can even be used close-up, and still remain a baffling mystery.
