“Fender-Bender”

This effect came to me out of the desire to bend spoons into “difficult-to-bend” positions. The sideways bend that the spoon ends up in during this effect is impossible to straighten back out to its original position. It also conveniently works well as an opener to Fred Bauman’s “Metalogic” which can be found in the New Stars of Magic for a routine that has double the impact (See For Performance).
 
Effect:
A spoon is caused to appear as if it slowly bends sideways at the neck until it is in the shape of a right angle. It can be passed out immediately for examination.
