Introducing The Divine Divide — a modern ribbon restoration miracle engineered for the working performer and built for the discerning collector.

The effect is as direct as it is impossible. A ribbon is examined and presented alongside a finely crafted pyramid-shaped prop. The prop may be shown freely from all sides. The spectator then signs either end of the ribbon, ensuring complete authenticity before the restoration even begins.

The ribbon is then openly threaded through the center of the pyramid, where the midpoint remains clearly visible through the front window. With scissors in hand, the performer cuts directly through the middle of the ribbon. The two severed ends seen clearly apart.

The spectator is then asked to look deep into the pyramid as they are about to see the 2 ends fuse back together. The performer then holds either end of the ribbon and on the count of 3 the ribbon visually snaps back into 1 piece. The restored ribbon is immediately removed, handed back, and reexamined by the spectator.

This deceptively clean sequence was born from a set of ambitious design challenges that when brought together create this stunning visual illusion:

– The ribbon may be examined before and after
– The spectator may sign either end with the signatures seen clearly through the routine
– The ribbon is threaded in full view
– The cut is clear and in view
– The restoration occurs openly before the audience
– The prop can be shown from all sides

This list of challenges seemed impossible at first to achieve but after months of working on this

project the Divine Divide was born.

Each unit is individually hand-built from Jarrah Eucalyptus hard wood along with plastic components, offering richness of tone with structural longevity, and a premium presence suited to professional performance or display. The result is not merely a gimmick, but a precision prop and a piece of fine craft—created by hand and driven by obsession for the perfect cut-and-restore visual.

Available in two ornate aesthetic designs: Celtic and Egyptian. Each contains their own routine scripts but obviously you can also perform this with what ever routine you like.

Material: Crafted from luxurious Australian Jarrah Eucalyptus hardwood & Eco Friendly Bio-Plastic.

Anthony Yap is an Australian artist with a passion for visual oddities, magical history and the esoteric arts. Influenced by a wide range of genres from mystical ancient cultures to Steampunk & Retrofuturism, Anthony’s creations are highly visual, and usually a lot more than what they seems at first glance.

Some artists naturally take to drawing, others modelling clay, for Anthony the virtual world of 3D Sculpting has been his medium of choice for over 2 decades and remained mostly contained to the virtual world until the rise of 3D Printing and additive manufacturing. Here Anthony saw an opportunity to rapidly take concepts and almost like magic to see those creations manifest over night into reality. While a big step in the right direction simply using 3D printing or CNC wasn’t enough, the result still felt unfinished and looked like a toy. Instead, a process and style was developed that uses 3D Printing & CNC as a base to start from with all of the individual pieces then undergoing a long process of hand work, assembly, hand painting & lacquer finishing to bring further quality, depth and feel to the magical creation. Through this process of mixing modern technology and classic hand crafting a unique characteristic is given to each of the items sometimes making the final piece feel as if it was just dug from an ancient tomb or discovered in the archives of some long lost traveling showman.

Due to the hand crafted nature of each of the pieces Anthony and his team can only produce a limited number of items each year with majority of the pieces going to collectors and enthusiasts from around the world.
