A spectator initials a half-dollar coin. The magician produces a small, pivot-hinged wooden or specialty box, locks it tightly with a small padlock, and hands the sealed box to the spectator.
 
The magician then vanishes the initialed coin, and when the spectator unlocks the box with the key, the signed coin is found safely inside.
