Effect-wise, a shuffled deck is shown in complete disorder, with red and black cards thoroughly mixed. Through the routine, the performer demonstrates an uncanny ability to bring structure out of chaos. Despite fair mixing conditions, the cards ultimately separate into an ordered arrangement, typically culminating in the reds and blacks being divided in an impossible manner.
 
The routine has a very hands-off, self-working feel to the audience, which is typical of Elsdon’s material. It leans more into impossible coincidence and hidden order than traditional sleight-heavy card magic.
 
CONDITION NOTES:  As shown in the photos, the instructions have age-related wear.  The cards are in excellent condition and appear to be rarely used, if ever.
